Below is a timeline showing the Heart of England Forest Project’s progress over the years:
2003
One field at Pitchells Wood (Forest of Dennis) planted.
2004
Pitchells Wood completed.
2006
Started planting at Spernal Estate.
2009
The charity surpasses the 300 acres mark for the first time, planting a mammoth 317 acres in one year.
2010
Coughton Park Wood purchased and felling of first conifer compartments completed ready for restocking with native broadleaves.
2012
Over 2190 acres have been planted since the charity was launched in 1996.
