Desmond Bermingham

Desmond is an international education and development specialist. He has held senior leadership roles in the UK government’s Department for International Development (DFID), the World Bank and Save the Children International.

I am inspired by the tremendous vision of Felix Dennis and the Heart of England Forest to create a new home for trees, wildlife and local communities to enjoy. Trees are the lungs of the planet and form a critical part of the international effort to mitigate the impact of climate change and protect our environment for future generations.”

Desmond’s other roles include trustee of the Birmingham Botanical Gardens, Chair of the Justice Institute Guyana and Director of the Greenheart Trust, supporting environment and education projects in Guyana, South America. Desmond has a home in Warwickshire and London.

Desmond was appointed onto the Heart of England Forest Board in February 2018.
